Power of Attorney POA
A power of attorney (POA) is a legal document that authorises one person to act for another. In a Dubai transfer it lets a representative attend and sign for a buyer or seller.
Definition
DLD’s Property Sale Registration page describes a sale registered between the seller and the buyer “or their legally authorized representatives”. Other DLD services list “A legal power of attorney in case of a representative” among the required documents — for example the Usufruct/Musataha right registration application.
What it shows — and what it does not
A POA shows who may act and what they may do. Its wording matters: a POA that does not cover the specific action, or is not in the form DLD accepts, may not be accepted at registration.
Example
Illustrative example: a seller living abroad gives a legal power of attorney to a relative in Dubai, who attends the trustee office and signs the transfer for them.
