Passport
A passport is the identity document DLD accepts from parties who do not hold a UAE Emirates ID.
Definition
DLD’s Property Sale Registration page accepts “a valid passport for non-resident foreigners” in place of the Emirates ID. The Request to register the initial sale (off-plan) lists “A copy of a valid passport for non-residents”.
What it shows — and what it does not
A valid passport identifies a non-resident party. Names should match across the passport, the title deed and the contract; a mismatch can hold up registration.
Example
Illustrative example: an overseas buyer’s passport is checked at the trustee office and the buyer’s details are entered from it.
Next step
If names differ between documents, see Name mismatch: what to do.
