Marriage Certificate
A marriage certificate is the official record of a marriage. In a Dubai property gift it can prove that the giver and receiver are spouses.
Definition
DLD’s Property Gift Registration page lists “Marriage certificate for married individuals: must be translated and attested by the UAE embassy in the issuing country and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in that country”. For UAE citizens it lists “Marriage contract for married individuals or Family Book.”
What it shows — and what it does not
The certificate proves the marriage for the gift; it does not by itself give either spouse any right in the property.
Example
Illustrative example: a wife gifting a share of a villa to her husband provides their attested marriage certificate as proof of relationship.
