Buyer
The buyer is the party acquiring the property in a sale — DLD’s pages also use “purchaser”.
Definition
DLD’s Property Sale Registration service registers a sale “between the contracting parties — the seller and the buyer — or their legally authorized representatives”. It asks for the Emirates ID of both parties “for identity verification only; no copies are taken”, or a valid passport for non-resident foreigners, and lists the buyer’s registration fee as “Buyer: 2% of the sale value”.
What it shows — and what it does not
Being the buyer named in an agreement gives you a contract with the seller. Ownership passes only when DLD registers the sale and issues the new title deed in your name.
Example
Illustrative example: a non-resident buyer attends the trustee office with a valid passport, the sale is registered, and the buyer’s 2% fee is paid at registration.
