Authorised Signatory
An authorised signatory is the person entitled to sign for a company in a property transaction.
Definition
DLD’s Settlements Application asks for “A copy of the trade license and Memorandum of Association indicating the authorized signatory manager” and a copy of the passport or UAE ID of the signatory manager. Its Mortgage registration application accepts “A legal power of attorney in case of a representative, or a duly notarized board of directors resolution”.
What it shows — and what it does not
The company’s documents show who can sign. If someone else signs, they need a power of attorney or a resolution in the form DLD accepts.
Example
Illustrative example: a company selling an office provides its trade licence and memorandum showing the manager as signatory, and the manager signs at the trustee office.
