Utilities
Utilities are the services a property needs — electricity, water, gas, cooling, telephone and internet.
Definition
Law No. (6) of 2019 on jointly owned property lists Utility Services as including “water connection or supply; gas connection or supply; electricity; air conditioning; telephone”. The UAE Government portal states that getting electricity and water connected is digitally integrated with the Dubai Land Department, and DLD’s FAQ states that customers are required to obtain Ejari for DEWA’s move-in service.
What it shows — and what it does not
Utility accounts are set up separately from the property transfer; each provider has its own steps and final bills.
Example
Illustrative example: after buying, an owner moving in arranges electricity and water with DEWA, then cooling and internet with their providers.
