Identity Verification
Identity verification is the check DLD makes that each party is who they say they are.
Definition
DLD’s Property Sale Registration page asks for the Emirates ID of both parties “for identity verification only; no copies are taken”, or a valid passport for non-resident foreigners. DLD’s Buy or Sell Property via Dubai Now service identifies parties through UAE PASS and is provided for individuals who hold a UAE ID.
What it shows — and what it does not
Verification confirms identity at the transaction. It does not replace checking ownership, authority to sign, or names on the title deed.
Example
Illustrative example: in an online sale through Dubai Now, both parties sign in with UAE PASS; at a trustee office, their Emirates IDs are checked in person.
