Birth Certificate
A birth certificate is the official record of a person’s birth. In a Dubai property gift it can prove that the giver and receiver are parent and child.
Definition
DLD’s Property Gift Registration page lists, under proof of relationship, “Birth certificate for children: must be translated and attested by the UAE embassy in the issuing country and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in that country”, and adds that “proof of paternity or kinship from the client’s embassy in the UAE is required.”
What it shows — and what it does not
The certificate proves the relationship for the gift; it says nothing about the property itself. Foreign certificates need the translation and attestation steps first.
Example
Illustrative example: a father gifting an apartment to his son provides the son’s attested birth certificate and the embassy’s confirmation of kinship.
