Property Gifting Transfers

Property gifting is a form of ownership transfer where no sale consideration is exchanged between parties. The conveyancing process remains procedural and is carried out in accordance with applicable authority requirements.

Unlike sale transactions, gifting transfers are typically subject to an authority-applied fee calculated as a percentage of the property’s assessed value. In most cases, this is 0.125% of the property valuation, rather than the standard 4% Dubai Land Department transfer fee applied to purchase transactions.

The applicable fee category, valuation basis, and acceptance of the gifting structure are determined solely by the relevant authority.
