Guide · Bank delays

What to do when a bank delay holds up your Dubai transfer

Start by replacing “the bank is delaying it” with a precise description of the missing output. Liability information, settlement confirmation, release evidence and buyer funding are different milestones with different next actions.

Identify exactly what is missing

Write the name of the document, decision or system action needed. Add the request reference, date submitted, information supplied and the next transaction step that depends on it. Keep the bank’s latest written response.

If you cannot name the missing item, ask the coordinating team to clarify it before escalating a general complaint.

Check that the request can be processed

Confirm whether the bank has the correct borrower information, property details, addressee and supporting documents. Ask whether any amount, date or condition has changed. An unanswered request and an incomplete request require different responses.

Where settlement has occurred, identify the accepted evidence and the further release output required. Do not assume a payment screenshot proves every bank and registration step is complete.

Send a focused status request

“Please confirm the status of request [reference] for [document or action]. Please identify any outstanding requirement, who must satisfy it and the next action needed to issue the output. This item is required before [transaction step]. Please also confirm whether the existing amount or document remains valid for the intended transaction date.”

Replace the bracketed fields with the actual file details. Do not include full account or identity documents in an unsecured message.

Escalate through the correct channel

Use the bank’s established service or complaint channel and retain the reference. Supply a short factual chronology, the exact request and the relevant evidence. Ask for a clear action rather than asserting a guaranteed legal deadline that has not been established.

If the issue affects a contractual completion date, notify the relevant parties and obtain appropriate advice about the agreement. A bank status request does not itself extend the contract.

Keep independent preparation moving

Check the property and party records, developer requirements, authority evidence and remaining funds. Mark any work that can proceed now, and any step that genuinely depends on the bank output. Reconfirm document usability if the proposed appointment changes.

Use the readiness standard to avoid leaving the rest of the file unprepared.

Before rebooking or arranging payments

Confirm the actual missing output has arrived and check its details. Ask whether earlier instructions or amounts need updating. Reconcile the appointment file instead of assuming that resolving the bank issue automatically resolves every other dependency.
