Family Book
The Family Book is the UAE’s official record of a UAE national’s family.
Definition
The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security describes the electronic Family Book as one “which includes details of family members of UAE nationals”. DLD’s Property Gift Registration page accepts, for UAE citizens, a “Marriage contract for married individuals or Family Book” as proof of relationship.
What it shows — and what it does not
The Family Book proves family relationships for UAE nationals; it is not a property document.
Example
Illustrative example: a UAE national gifting a property to a daughter uses the Family Book to show the relationship.
